YWCA are so thrilled to announce the launch of the third edition of our Status of Young Women in Scotland report, which presents a diverse snapshot of the issues affecting Scotland’s young women today. This year we focused on political engagement, representation, and activism.
Nearly 500 young women across Scotland took part in this study, which was conducted by Edinburgh-based social research agency, The Lines Between. We heard some inspirational stories and discussions, which left us feeling hopeful for the future. However, the report also highlights that there is much work to be done to address the various barriers to political engagement that young women in Scotland face today.
We would love if you could join us in celebrating the publication of this report on Thursday, 16th May, 2019 at 6.30 pm, at the Scottish Poetry Library. The evening will be an opportunity to share your thoughts on the themes from the report, hear from participants, researchers and young women politicians and activists and discuss how we can make sure that voices of young women continue to be heard in political spaces in Scotland beyond 2018/19!
